Sewing Workshop #3: Reversible Tote Bag

Join me this Saturday, Oct 10, 2014, at The Uptown Studio, to make a simple reversible cotton tote bag, with the option to extend the straps to a cross body version.  You’ll leave with your finished bag, a pattern to create more at home, as well as refined skills in stitching straight seams, french seams, topstitching and pressing.

Read the details and pay tuition here.

Children with sewing machine experience are welcome, but students aged 13 or under must have an adult present to assist them.

I made this sample tote using an Alexander Henry fabric.  I can’t wait to see the fabrics my students will select.  See you soon!

New in the shop…

Todays Babywearing event was a lot of fun! It was nice to see so many happy babies and toddlers!

In honor of this week, I have added 2 new slings to the Etsy store.  I’m also offering 20% off slings with the code babywear , and I am extending the sale through October 31.

I also added some really fun Dia de los Muertos wet bags! They are 10″x13″, lined in sealed PUL, and perfect for keeping dirty things contained in your purse or diaper bag.  Wet bags are great with cloth diapers, but their usefulness doesn’t stop there!  Use them to store soiled clothing, used burp clothes, or in your gym bag to keep sweaty clothes separated.  This fun Alexander Henry (Los Novios) print can be used year round, the beautiful colors carry it beyond Halloween.  Other sizes are available, send me a message for details.

Love the print? Check out my new Day of the Dead Ring sling, with contrasting reversible black panel, metallic ring, and rick-rack trim.

If you want something more feminine, take a gander at this floral and houndstooth creation.  It is also reversible to a solid red, and has rick rack trim to divide the fabric patterns.  Add a bit of springtime optimism to your fall wardrobe. And save 20%!
