In September I will begin teaching my first semester of Beginner Sewing Classes. My friend Stephan, a wonderful dancer and artist, has graciously offered his new “home” to us, The Uptown Studio. Check them out for lots of affordable dance classes, as well as other art and literature events. Details for my sewing class can be found below, or by clicking on the “Classes” tab in my menu bar above.

This is a novice level class. Throughout 12 weeks, each 90 minute class will teach you how to operate your machine, sew on different types of materials, attach various closures, and learn to do minor repairs and alterations. Learned skills will be practiced through small projects. Students will be responsible for bringing supplies; lists will be given out 1-2 weeks before the project and will utilize scraps or recycled materials whenever possible.
For each class, students will need: Sewing Machine, new 8′-9″ scissors, thread, bobbin, sewing machine needles, tailors chalk, 18″ clear quilters ruler. Special supplies (zippers, fabric, etc) for projects will be required throughout the semester.
Classes will be held on Saturdays from 10:30 AM-Noon at the Uptown Studio. The Fall Semester is Sept 14-Dec 7 (no class will be held the Saturday after Thanksgiving).
Fee: $15 per class, each month is due in full before the first class of that month. Enjoy a discounted rate of $165 if semester is paid in advance. PLEASE NOTE: Six pre-paid students are required for this class to make. If the class is not filled, by Sept 14, any monies paid will be refunded.
Attendance: Class fees are due in advance, and are non-refundable. Should class be cancelled by the instructor, a make-up class will be offered.
